Officers from Derbyshire Police Rural Crime Team have launched an investigation after lead was stolen from the roof of a Derbyshire church during the Easter weekend.
Police were called to All Saints Church in Sudbury on Monday 24 April following a report of the theft and damage also being caused to the roof.
The incident happened between Saturday 22 April and Easter Sunday 23 April.
A gravestone dating back to the 1800s was also damaged.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, saw anything suspicious in the area over the Easter weekend, or who has any CCTV or dash cam footage which could help with their enquiries to contact them.
